A Team bounce back after their cup defeat on Thursday with a fine win away to NICS collecting 6 of the 7 points on offer M Mitchell's and P Thompson's rinks got ahead early both being over ten shots up however Mitchell was bowling poorly an allowed Brian the NICS skip too many chances which he took with some good bowling like driving a bare jack into the ditch for 3 NICS also got lucky after fine bowling by Mitchell's front end had them lying four NICS third drives at the head but is a mile wide but manages to pick out a NICS bowl and sends it into the head for second shot. Mitchells game was tied 21 - 21 going into the last end and with the skips left to play NICS were lying two shots Brian bowled his first bowl and turned a Cavehill bowl up for second shot and with his last turned it again to give Cavehill the rink win. G Martins rink were going along shot for shot being tied at 11 each then on a long end Martins rink pick up a 7 and were cruising to Victory However on the last end with Cavehill well up across the green they managed to give back the 7 shots gained earlier to win by 4. Then to make things worse P Thompson's rink lost a 5 in their last end leaving only 3 shots between the teams. A pressure last end for the R Waddell rink as they were well down in shots to F Murdock and after the front ends had played it was 4 shots to NICS although well spread E Conville bowls his first bowl and cuts them down to one or two and with his second nudges the Jack and it could now be 3 to NICS up steps R Waddell and with the whole green looking on delivers his first bowl onto the shot bowl for shot what a bowl under pressure by a skip who was being well beaten his bowl was never bettered and although losing his point Ronnie won the match for Cavehill. Losing 13 shots in the last ends is going to lose you a lot of games Cavehill need to remember how to win and to play for the whole team and not just a rink win thinking the game is won.
G Martin V A Montgomery won 30-26 M Mitchell V B Leonard won 22-21 P Thompson V J Leonard 27 - 16 R Waddell V F Murdock lost 12 - 22 3 May
A Team crash to a heavy defeat 87 - 45 to Comber in the PGL Cup. Many thought the game would be a lot closer after we beat them by six shots only a few days before, but obviously it had done comber a lot of good getting a practice run on our green. It was all over early on when P Thompson's rink were 13 down after 3 ends and never recovered losing 27 - 9. R Weddell's rink also struggled after doing so well in the first two games losing 26 - 6. G Martins rink were trading shots for 10 ends with nothing between the two teams then the Comber rink lead by the skip with the blue bowls got going with some superb play and a bit of luck and run out winning 24 - 10. Only M Mitchell's rink managed a win 20 - 10 achieved by some good front end bowling with the 3rd and skip chipping in at vital times Mitchell also had the luck with him on a few ends, on one end the Comber 3rd drew two perfect bowls swinging into the head to lie 2 shots within 2 inches. Mitchell's only shot was to try the same high draw to rest out a Comber bowl he played it a little too high got a wick into the head split the two shot bowls to lie shot and they say the Irish are lucky.

A Team get their first points of the season against Comber who they also meet in the cup on Thursday night. It is going to be important to win your home games in this league to save you from relegation and Cavehill will be happy with a win it could have been six points as M Mitchell's rink were tied going into the last end and were holding two with only one bowl left P Reynolds the skip for comber drew the shot and the point was lost. P Thompson looked to be on the end of a hammering going down a bundle of shots early on and looking like they would cost cavehill the match however they dug deep and clawed back the deficit losing by a handful of shots.R Weddell's rink star again after narrowly losing last week go ten shots up early on and never looked like losing. G Martin also got off to a flyer but was pegged back a little although they never looked like losing their point. All in all a pleasing result lets hope we can produce the same form in the cup on Thursday.
B Team very disappointed that their game was called off against Cliftonville but if they get the points it will go a long way towards their promotion chances after last weeks impressive win at home.
